Disappointed:
With the MPEG card, the operational resolution of your Millennium card are very limited.
| Color Mode | Maximum Resolution | Operational Resolution Modes |
| 8bpp | 1280x960 | All |
| 16bpp | 1024x768 | 1024x768 or lower |
| 24bits | 640x480 | 800x600 or lower |
| 32 bits | 640x480 | 800x600 or lower |
Surprisingly Amazed:
Did you know the MediaXL board can also capture video? Surprise! The package comes with the VIDCAP driver for Video for Windows. I tried running my very old Video for Windows 1.0 capture program with my Pentium 120Mhz running Windows 95. I did some tests capturing some video saving to the local PCI fast SCSI drive and some tests saving the video to a Pentium 120Mhz NT Server thought a 100BaseT connection. The server has a 9GB wide SCSI drive. The video captured was with 16bits color, 22Khz 16bits stereo. Here is the result:
| Resolution | Server (fps) | Local (fps) |
| 160x120 (1/8 screen) | 24 | 30 |
| 200x150 | 17 | 21 |
| 240x180 | 15 | 16 |
| 280x210 | 12 | 12 |
| 320x240 (1/4 screen) | 8 | 10 |
Other Notes:
After installing the software, remember to read the readme file 'Readme.xl' before trying out any software. Say, you run the "Video Presentation" to watch your video overlay from your VCR AND then try to read the readme file using your Windows 95 WordPad. Guess what, the readme file said Windows 95's WordPad will freeze your computer while "Video Presentation" is running.
